Peaceful 1.26 mile waterfront trail along Melton Hill Lake. Great for bicycling, walking, running and skating.

A national recreation trail, North Ridge offers 7.5 miles of light hiking through greenbelt land on the Northern Boundary of Oak Ridge.

University of Tennessee Arboretum

Norris Watershed Hiking and Riding Trails

Hike or horseback the many miles of woodland trails that meander through the watershed and the adjacent Norris Dam State Park. Experience spectacular views of Norris Lake and its surrounding hills and valleys. Contact the Anderson County Tourism Council at 800-524-3602 for a map.

TVA Rivers & Lakes

Clinch River

Flowing from Norris Dam, the Clinch River is one of the best trout fishing areas in the U.S.

Melton Hill Lake

Nationally recognized as the home of the Oak Ridge rowing course, Melton Hill offers 173 miles of shoreline for boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing and other outdoor activities.

Scenic Beauty, marinas, campgrounds, house boat rentals, hiking and horseback riding make Norris Lake's 800 miles of shoreline an all-inclusive sportsman's paradise.

Watts Bar Lake

Scenic Watts Bar Lake provides 783 miles of shoreline for a wide variety of water recreation, including boating, fishing, swimming and camping.

Rowing

Oak Ridge Rowing Course

Melton Hill is nationally know as one of the best 2,000 meter rowing courses in the U.S. Every March - April, thousands of rowers join us for Spring Training. The Oak Ridge Rowing Association also hosts a number of regatta's including SIRA, Lexus Mid-Central and the Scholastics. Oak Ridge is one of only three cities to host the USRowing National Championships since 1983.

Coal Creek OHV Area

(CCMMC) has opened its 72,000 acres of land for multi-use activities. They have over 250 miles of trails for the enjoyment of ATVs, Motor Cycles, Jeeps, 4x4s, Rail-buggies, Mountain Bikes, Equestrians and Hikers.
The main entrance to CCMMC's Land is from the town of Oliver Springs

Windrock ATV Club

The Windrock ATV Club promotes safe riding, and works to ensure the trails stay clean and open. The club is very family oriented with members ranging in age from 12 to 91 that participate in rides.

State Parks

Norris Dam State Park

The first dam constructed by TVA includes 800 miles of shoreline on Norris Lake offering water recreation, camping, museum and gristmill.

Frozen Head State Park

Off Hwy. 62, east of Wartburg. (423) 346-3318.
This wilderness area is named for a 3,324-foot peak, which is often shrouded in ice or snow. Fifty miles of backpacking and day-hike trails provide wildlife viewing opportunities.
