Details: Step back in time to the 1950s when segregation was prominent across the U.S. Visit historic Clinton, Tennessee where the first state-supported high school in the south integrated and graduated the first black student. “The Clinton 12” walked down Foley hill on August 27, 1956 and into history as they became the first black students to attend Clinton High School. The school was bombed as a result of negative outside influence, but it was rebuilt and later set the benchmark for integration.

Lenoir Museum Cultural Complex

Details: Discover pioneer life at this complex that includes the Lenoir Pioneer Museum, an 18th century gristmill and threshing barn.

Norris Dam State Park
Details: Situated in the ridge and valley region of east Tennessee, the park occupies more than 4,000 acres surrounding Norris Lake and Norris Dam. Caves, scenic valleys, sparkling streams and virgin forests are among the natural wonders of the park. The park has cabins, campgrounds, meeting rooms, a recreation center including a swimming pool, playgrounds, a marina, and the Lenoir Museum Historical Complex.

Coal Miners Museum
Details: Historical artifacts featuring the 1800’s Coal Creek War and the third worst mining disaster in U.S. history. Many of the regulations for coal mining that are still in use today are a result of the tragedies of the Coal Creek War.

Marinas at Norris Lake
Hours: Dawn till Dusk
Details: Visit beautiful Norris Lake and its 800 miles of pristine shoreline. Much of the shoreline is free of industry and development since it is surrounded by Norris Dam State Park, Big Ridge State Park, and Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area. Marinas include Andersonville, Mountain Lake, Lighthouse, Sequoyah, and Stardust.

Anderson County Park
Details: Located on Norris Lake at Pellissippi Point, Anderson County Park is a haven for families, boaters, fishermen, campers, and nature walkers with its 196 acres of camp sites, swimming area, playgrounds, walking and hiking trails, and much more.

Oliver Springs Railroad Depot

Details: This restored 1897 depot houses historical artifacts and photos of the local community and is also the site of the Oliver Springs Public Library. Don’t miss the restored Southern Caboose, Old Hotel Ticket Booth, and horse-drawn Fire Wagon located in the back of the Depot.
