8th Annual Secret City Festival
June 18 – 19 at AK Bissell Park
In historic downtown Oak Ridge

Find out how the Secret City changed the course of history. Join us as we celebrate the history and heritage of Oak Ridge with music, history, family fun, and more!

The 8th annual Secret City Festival is a FREE festival, open to the public from 11 am – 7 pm on Friday and 10 am – 7 pm on Saturday.

Free children's festival activities include Mountain Marionettes, Water Wars, karaoke and a dance floor, inflatables, arts & crafts, mule & wagon rides, Euro-bungy, Oscar the Robot, climbing wall, graffiti car, and much more.

A special area just for Toddler’s is available featuring inflatables, a Moon Walk, a Hay Bale Maze, and a Sand Treasure Pit.

A new Youth Area will feature a climbing wall, Eurobungy, water slide, obstacle course, jousting, military vehicles, a zip line, and much more!

The 4th Annual TN Creates, a juried arts & crafts show, will feature over 50 artisans, showing and selling their artwork and performing demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The festival will also feature antiques, exhibitors, entertainment, and fabulous festival food round out the weekend’s events. Visitors can also visit the Lavender Festival in Historic Jackson Square, take tours to different Manhattan Project Facilities, and witness the Invasion of Normandy re-enacted by more than 200 WWII re-enactors.

Daryl Stuermer-Genesis Rewired, Break on Through-A Tribute to the Doors, and Tres Hombers (a ZZ Top tribute band)
Saturday, June 19 – Chubby Checker
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of “The Twist”

Early bird tickets (available through June 12) are $12. After June 12, tickets are $15 each.

  • US Marine Corps presence during the WWII Re-enactment
  • An armor vs. armor conflict during the WWII Re-enactment
  • Y-12 Tours will feature a first time look at the Building 9731, the building where the Medical Isotope Program had its beginning. This building also houses the world’s only Alpha Calutron Magnets, which are 20 feet tall.

  • Bus tours to the X-10 Graphite Reactor, K-25 Heritage History Trail, and Y-12 National Security Complex

Jackson Square Lavender Festival

The 12th Annual Lavender Festival will once again fill Historic Jackson Square in Oak Ridge with sweet scents of herbs, great music, herb and craft booths, demonstrations and all things herbal from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2010

This annual herb fair features booths from several dozen vendors offering herbal plants and products, jewelry, aromatherapy, gardening, along with arts and crafts. Demonstrations on herbal cooking and crafts along with educational programs are given throughout the day. Live music includes contemporary folk, traditional and bluegrass.

The Farmers' Market at Jackson Square opens at 8:00 AM offering in season fruits and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, bakery items, honey, meats and cheeses. A variety of booths and restaurants in Jackson Square will be offering breakfast and lunch items.
